Nomadic X2 SERIES Rated Power, Wire Size & Fuse Guide

This technical library note provides rated power, current draw, minimum power-wire gauge, and fuse recommendations for the Nomadic Cooling X2 rooftop family. It applies to the X2 Standard and X2 Plus in 12V, 24V, and 48V configurations, and to the X2 Helix in its currently offered 12V and 48V configurations.

Use this guide to review nominal battery voltage, ECO and High Cool power consumption at 100°F, hot-day design current, voltage-drop assumptions, and circuit-protection requirements for a 15 ft one-way, or 30 ft round-trip, main DC cable run. Under the stated design conditions, the guide specifies 2 AWG with a 100 A fuse for 12V, 6 AWG with a 50 A fuse for 24V, and 10 AWG with a 30 A fuse for 48V systems.
