Helix Signal - Product Details

What is the Helix Signal?

A smarter layer of protection—where it counts most.

The Helix Signal is a wireless, battery-powered sensor built to detect water leaks in the most vulnerable areas of your rig—under sinks, near water tanks, around batteries, and in utility bays. Designed specifically for mobile environments, it connects seamlessly with your Helix Pulse hub, delivering real-time alerts straight to your touchscreen. Compact, rugged, and ready out of the box, it’s your first line of defense against costly water damage.

Requires the Helix Pulse touchscreen hub (sold separately); Pulse acts as the local gateway for setup, monitoring, and automations.

What’s the biggest benefit of using Helix Signal?

It’s always on guard—even when you’re not.

In off-grid life, a small leak can turn into a big problem fast. Helix Signal gives you early detection and instant alerts—no wires, Wi-Fi, or setup headaches. Whether you're parked, on the move, or hundreds of miles away from the nearest service center, you’ll know the moment moisture appears—giving you time to act, not react. And with more sensor types coming soon, your system evolves as your rig does.

Why Modular Protection Wins in Mobile Builds?

Helix Signal isn’t just another sensor—it’s the foundation of a modular detection system designed for life on the move. While it starts with water leak detection, it’s built to grow alongside your vehicle with upcoming sensors for smoke, propane, temperature, and more. Instead of replacing gear every time your build evolves, Signal evolves with you. Integrated with the Helix Pulse hub and powered by Helix OS, it gives you real-time alerts, streamlined control, and a smarter way to protect what matters. Start small. Expand smart.

Install, Placement & Downloads

Helix Signal is a compact, wireless leak sensor that slides into your rig’s highest-risk zones: under sinks, near tanks, and inside utility bays, without cutting, drilling, or running wire. Setup takes just a few minutes through your Helix Pulse hub (required).

Placement & options

  • Power: CR2 lithium battery (replaceable); designed for long-life, low-power operation.
  • Connection: Wire-free link to your Helix Pulse hub (Helix Pulse required).
  • Typical locations: Under sinks, near fresh/grey/black tanks, at pump/manifold connections, inside utility bays, under indoor units, or beneath any fittings prone to slow leaks.
  • Orientation: Flat on a solid surface with the sensor contacts facing the direction water will reach first.
  • Environment: Indoor/mobile environments only; do not submerge or expose to standing water long-term.
  • Alerts: Triggers Helix app and Pulse-screen notifications when water is detected.

What’s included for setup

  • Helix Signal leak sensor
  • Pre-installed CR2 lithium battery
  • Battery cover key (for secure cover removal and reinstallation during battery changes)

Basic setup sequence

  1. Confirm hub: Verify your Helix Pulse hub is powered, online, and updated.
  2. Wake the sensor: Press the center button as directed in the manual. Keep the battery cover key in a known location—you’ll use it when replacing the battery.
  3. Check registration: Confirm the sensor appears in your Helix app / Pulse device list with a clear, descriptive name (e.g., “Galley Sink Leak” or “Fresh Tank Bay”).
  4. Place the sensor: Position the unit flat in a low point where water would naturally travel—under plumbing runs, at connection points, or at the lowest spot in the compartment.
  5. Test: Use a small amount of water near the probes to confirm an alert is generated in the Helix app/Pulse hub, then dry the sensor thoroughly.
  6. Finalize: Adjust naming, notification preferences, and any automations (e.g., pump shutoff, push alerts) inside Helix.

Pro tips

  • Name by location, not serial number so you instantly know where the leak is (e.g., “Bathroom Sink” vs. “Sensor 03”).
  • Place where water will end up, not where you wish it wouldn’t go—low points and under fittings are better than high shelf surfaces.
  • Avoid constant splash zones (like directly under a shower head) to reduce nuisance alerts; aim for “drip and leak” paths instead.
  • Test after major plumbing work or seasonalization to make sure sensors still sit correctly and report as expected.
  • Store the battery cover key with your rig documentation or Helix hardware so it’s easy to find when it’s time to replace the battery.
  • Use Helix automations to trigger alarms, app notifications, or pump shutoff scenes when a leak is detected.

Start with water leaks. Expand as your system grows.

The New Helix Signal

Advanced off-grid detection starts here. Designed to spot water leaks before they become costly damage, Helix Signal is rugged, responsive, and ready to expand into a full-sensor network—no wires, no downtime.

Why the Helix Signal?

In mobile environments, even the smallest leak can cause massive downtime, costly damage, or total electrical failure. That’s why the Helix Signal isn’t just a sensor—it’s the first line of modular defense in your rig’s smart ecosystem. Starting with real-time water leak detection, Signal installs in seconds, integrates wirelessly with the Helix Pulse touchscreen, and gives you instant alerts when moisture hits.

And this is just the beginning. Designed for expansion, Helix Signal is your future-ready detection layer, with upcoming modules for propane, smoke, and temperature—all controlled from one interface. Whether you’re protecting electronics, utilities, or high-value gear, Helix Signal gives you more visibility, more control, and less risk—from the first drop to the full system.

Signal FAQs

What does the Helix Signal detect right now?

Right now, Helix Signal includes a precision water leak sensor, engineered for high-risk zones like tank bays, battery compartments, and under-sink cabinetry. It’s your first line of defense against moisture damage in mobile environments. But that’s just the beginning—a growing lineup of dedicated sensors is on the way, including smoke, propane, temperature, and humidity detection. Each will be built for a specific task, so you can custom-tailor your system without relying on generic all-in-one devices. Focused protection, expandable by design.

Can I add more sensors in the future?

Absolutely. Helix Signal is designed to grow with your rig. As your needs evolve, you can add dedicated sensors for smoke, propane, temperature, and humidity—each engineered for a specific purpose. No rewiring, no hassle—just seamless pairing with your existing Pulse hub through the Helix ecosystem.

Where should I place my Helix Signal sensor for best results?

Placement depends on your layout, but the most effective zones are under sinks, near water tanks, in battery compartments, and around electronics—anywhere moisture could quietly cause damage. The compact form factor makes it easy to fit into tight utility areas, and since it’s wireless and pre-paired, you can test different placements without hassle. Just peel, place, and stay protected where it counts.

Does Helix Signal work without Helix Pulse?

No. Helix Signal requires the Helix Pulse touchscreen hub, which acts as the local gateway for pairing, monitoring, and notifications (sold separately). Pulse also lets you manage multiple sensors and create automations.
